Planning permission for the works to the Sexby Garden has been received 26/AP/1653.

The main works are the replacement of the corner gazebos and the framework of the Wisteria Avenue.

The planting within the Garden is not included within the Planning Application.

The timber framework of the wisteria avenue is sound, but would deteriorate in time. There are concerns that if the replacement of the timber structures is not carried out by professionals the existing Wisteria could be permanently damaged.

The Friends of  Peckham Rye Park are working with Park Officers with planting plans for the Garden. Planting of roses and peonies in the central beds will start to take place in the Autumn.

The Friends of Peckham Rye Park have funded the re instatement of the irrigation system and will further help with funding of the  planting within the Garden.
